Right folks the time has come that I have been dreading.

Invision has upgraded their forum to the new version of 2.1 :(

This is good but it will probably break everything when I do it, so it will be a bit of work to get things back to normal. It is an essential upgrade and the next big instalment from them.

So wish me luck and I will see you all on the other side.

Thats probably the quickest upgrade and downgrade you will ever see on an internet site :)

The upgrade broke many things, so I need to run this on a test board first and get all the fixes right.

The problem is that the upgrade is a major one and it causes a few problems all the time.

But in the meantime its back to 2.0.4

Hope you get all the problems fixed Lee. I noticed the downtime earlier this evening. Hope everything goes well.

For myself, I just want to say "THank You Lee" for the time and effort you put into this wonderful site. A great place to post AND learn :D

One of the advantages of no longer working is not having to ask for leave whenever it was time for the twice yearly system upgrade. Dreaded it!

    Bon chance, Lee.

Spidge, I have every confidence in Lee and no faith in software companies.

After an upgrade, it usually takes someone who really knows what they are doing to make it work again.

Yes, well in thise case the upgrade has made some substantial changes and as a result I need to rebuild the skin which will take me a while.

You can see progress over here:

Once I am done I will carry out the upgrade. Its always a good idea to run a test board somewhere if you have a forum so you can test all the skins, mods and so on

Upgrading now, you will find issues on the board but bear with me...

New Gallery has also been installed, but needs some colour modification.

If you come across anything at all that is out of place please let me know here.

    Thanks

No problems so far Lee did have a SQL error last night for a bit but all seems fine now.

Some of the new stuff is good to, seems a good upgrade.

I am getting there, its just taking time to rebuild the skin on this new version, but I have nearly completed rebuilding the logo at the top.

You can see the new skin here.

Once I get the main page fixed the rest is just a case of changing the CSS, which takes no time at all.

But I would rather get it right before I put it live.

    Hi Lee,

Will you be including the members country flag of origin in the final load as I noticed they are no longer included in the members ID.
