Unkown Mail plane 1941

    Has any one any knowledge to the type of aircraft this is ??

    All that is at the back of the photo is

    ...The plane that brings the mail Palestine oct 1941.

    What do,s the "P" stand for?? I have no idea where it was taken .

    Any tiny bit help will be great full.

    My father had nothing to do with the R.A.F , he was a D.R .
    How long he was in Palestine , i have no account..

    Definitely a Bombay, the Harrow has a different pair of fins.

    Many thanks for your reply ,

    This looks like we are going in the right direction.

    The main user of the Bristol Bombay was No. 216 Squadron in Egypt, which received its first Bombays in October 1939, and retained them until June 1943.

    Agreed with the Bristol Bombay. The letter P is merely an identification code within the squadron, as is the E at bottom, the 'SH' is the squadron identifier, whatever it was omitted in your photo.
