Unknown 30th Corps troops. There appears to be a Parachute Regiment Pioneer Sergeant second from left in the front row. He is possibly flanked by a brace of Lancashire fusiliers.

Note the parachute wings are now on the opposite side of his uniform.

At the age of thirty seven, he realised he'd never ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in his hair.

Many thanks for posting the photos. While there is nothing dramatic in them, they are atmospheric of the British Army's early days (possibly summer 1946) in Germany. Well done for acquiring them and good luck for future purchases.

    Hi,
great photos, I served in Bergen during the 1980's and I am pretty sure the buildings in the first posts are near the Target factory and used to be the Army Field Bakery and RAOC supply depot up until the mid 80's,
    Rick
