I have to go along with the 6th Inf bde for the QOCHC as it falls in with the numbers game - 1-2-3 bde in 1st Div 4-5-6-2nd Div et al...6th bde were with Les Fus mont royal as senior batt. - QOCHC as middle batt. and Sth Sassers as junior batt.

Must say I am impressed with the turnout of both the parade and the spick and span carrier-we never did see them look like that !...... looks as if it just came out of the original factory - well done to the restorers........good job !

the US white star was always a bone of contention- and usually "just happened " to be covered in mud - the relationship was soured in Italy - initially when the Americans - who had no hand in capturing the city of Naples as that was by the British 7th Armoured's KDg's and 11th Hussars...would NOT allow anyone wearing the red patch of the 1st Cdn division into the City -caused alot of fights - they tried this on again at Rome- and lost - even to threatening shooting anyone who was not American - and other places so much so that when the City of Tombe de Pesaro(Tuvalu) was "liberated" by 5th Cdn Div - a notice was made up with the legend - "THIS is a Canadian City !" there were few Americans to take notice though !

The Americans were always glad enough of our Alexander Club in Rome as they were served real food as opposed to their plastic packges......

    Cheers

    Tom,

Thanks for the added info. While not wishing to slag our American forum members, it is always nice to receive a little credit when it is deserved. Eh?

Correct, just looked up their regimental History. 6th Brigade consisted of Fusiliers Mont de Royal, South Saskatchewan Regiment and the Camerons.

Hi, I am the new owner of a carrier and have been looking for as much info as possible. The carrier I am restoring came from Ontario and was used for training. I do not know what base it was on.It was delete upper armour, and had a windshield, benches and handrails installed,as well as running lights and turnsignals. Are there any markings that would have been used on a trainer? I am not intending to highjack this thread, just that the subject is very interesting. Thanks,Dave

Dave i own a carrier myself where are you from ? if you create a thread and post some images of yours we may be able to assist. it sounds however that your carrier has been used as a hunters shuttle post war.

Edit: i also recomend you join MLU FORUM - Powered by vBulletin we have a carrier section on the site for owners / enthusiasts / restorations etc etc.
