    Just bumping up this thread that Gerry started, as I mentioned the link in another post - might it be worthwhile changing the thread title to something a bit more descriptive?

    It's a great site.

    Thanks for the link Gerry, great info there.
    As an aside, it the site states that the average rifle company was 5 officers & 122 men.
    To give an idea of casualties in Normandy 5th Camerons history states "Rifle companies were now reduced to an average of 60 men".
    Indeed later in 1944 & into 1945. they were reduced from 4 to 3 companies because of casualties. No doubt these sort of figures apply to lots of other units.
