As some may know I'm researching my Uncle Sydney who died in Rangoon Prison in 1943.

I am trying get get a better picture of what things he would have worn, eaten and done whilst off duty.
He was captured in early 1942 having only been in Burma a few months.

So as a start I thought I would ask about his uniform. Would it have still been Kharki drill or would he have been issued the jungle greens that i've seen in loads of pictures?

What would his webbing have consisted of?

    And his weaponary?

    I know question, question questions.

    Hoping someone can help

    Cheers in advance

Who was he with? That may have a bearing on dress and equipment. At least one of the original infantry battalions was still sporting pith helmets.

He served with the 1st Battalion West Yorkshire, came in to Burma via India.
