    Hello,

I bought these extra bren pouches a will a go. On the yoke ar some unidentified markings.
Is it possible that the yellow dod is anti gas paint? And what does the marking with the 3 mean?
I hope that someone can help me solve this mystery

Could be something as simple as an armoury number. We had a large armoury and each company had a separate area for weapons and weapons storemen. A colour code for HQ and each company. The number might well indicate the gun rack number - the ancillary equipment would also carry the rack number and be issued when the gun was signed out.

I agree just local unit markings.
All our SF kit had similar numbers.

SF kit number 1 , kit number 2 etc etc
