Today I watched a video of a wounded Russian soldier drown in 2 feet of water. My heart broke for him and the family he left behind as he thrashed around for life - his death throes now providing entertainment for countless anti Russian zealots online.

What a tragedy this whole mess is.

I know the video - and far worse.
In fact, the only thing that surpasses the cruelty of such images is the complete lack of empathy in the comments.
Which, by the way, applies to both sides....
It has its advantages to be on the better side of the screen: Most of those who celebrate something like this would
certainly be massively traumatised if they had to experience it in real life.

The lack of empathy is disturbing to say the least. And you are quite correct, those who spend their afternoon casually engaged in misery tourism online, would be absolutely traumatised if they had to experience it in reality.

I hope the families of these men are able to find some kind of peace, regardless of which flag they fought under.

Couldn't agree more, when you consider also a lot of the russian troops are forced conscripts who don't want to be there. Although Russia is the aggressor and I'd like to see them pushed back by the UA seeing videos of RA troops being killed by drones dropping bombs in their trenches while their superiors are back in Moscow drinking their vodka is not something I take pleasure in seeing.
The amount of lives lost in this conflict and a country brought to ruin because of a certain person's political ambitions is as you say a tragedy.

  18. It seems that Russian women cannot fly any better than Russian men:

The Western Military District Financial Department head Marina Yarinka reportedly fell out of a window and died on February 16. A prominent Russian milblogger amplified claims that Yarinka’s mysterious death could be related to an April 2022 report that supposedly alleged that unspecified actors stole 70 percent of the funds allocated for the modernization of air and missile defense near St. Petersburg.

Note: her surname was actually Yankina, not Yarinka as quoted.
