I came across this site which may well be of interest to members of the Forum: http://www.pillboxesuk.co.uk/ Best wishes to all, Gerry
Does anyone know if WWII fortifications are shown on OS maps? I have a French IGN 1:25,000 map of the Boulogne area which shows them - accurately too from the few I have checked out.
The OS maps at 1:2500 which were surveyed in the 1950s and 1960s sometimes have pillboxes etc drawn in showing how they survived in the immediate post-war period however my modern OS explorer maps show nothing in the area where I know there are some. Ryan
Here is a pillbox about a 1/4 mile from me. It is on the junction of Stratford Road and Radcliffe Street in Wolverton. It is opposite what was the main enterance to the Wolverton Railway Works, and is now part of someone's garden wall.
