    Mmmm. Nisbets.

Every time I go to Bath, I remember the place on the Crescent that was bombed out.
Every time it takes me 15 minutes to work out which one.

Bath as many such towns was hit by the Luftwaffe Baedeker raids. These were in retaliation and directed by Hitler for the firebombing of Lubeck.

The port was hit heavily but the old town, being constructed mainly of wood was extensively damaged on the night of 28/29 March 1942.

    Shadwell east end of London
    Old building being redeveloped
This area was heavily bombed during WW2
The photos show 21st century redevelpoment of the site
The photo of the side with fireplaces was a common site on bombed out buildings even into the 1980s

Ah, the restoration for its future commemorative purpose is reportedly now underway:
Inside National Picture Theatre as restoration work begins

Used to walk past it early on Summer term Tuesday mornings to go to Beverley Road baths for school swimming, 0830 start. Only remember sunny mornings. Frozen Jubblies afterwards.

Someone in a Packard group on Facebook is researching a beautiful 1930 Packard Eight.
They've determined it was exported to Leonard Williams & Ltd, 971 Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex, England.

They believe the building was destroyed by bombers in WWII but the steps are still there:

Not WW2 but WW1. The crescent in Scarborough on the 16th December 1914 came under naval bombardment from the Germans.

Worth a look if you are local or in the area.
