Two RASC ORs awarded Military Medal when attached to US 2nd Rangers

    Anybody know why Pte. Blackmore and Cpl Good was awarded Military Medal?

    There's this here.

    Can't remember if they are the same fellows, but there were also MMs awarded to a couple of firemen who helped man the ladders mounted in the landing craft. Will have to dig deeper...

    The 'amphibious device' was indeed a fire brigade ladder in a DUKW; Blackmore's son made a brief posting on an OU forum some years ago referrring to the incident.
