For the last 4 years I have been unsuccessfully trying to find out what happened to my maternal Grandfather who was taken during WW2 by the German army as part of the forced labour campagne. Not long after he was taken, my Mum got a postcard from "near the Danish border", and that was the last she ever heard from him. Mum is now 87, and I would love to try and find out what happened to my Grandfather, and more importantly, where he is buried. Have tried Red Cross, ITS, Salvation Army, Polish embassy, German Embassy, Warsaw Archives and Bygdoscz archives with no luck. If anyone has any suggestions where I could look next, it would be very much appreciated.

    Wizard,

It could be one of the camps marked on the map shown on the website attached.

    Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial

Perhaps making contact will prove fruitful to your research.

    Regards
