I spoke to soon Windows 7 has de- activated looks like it will be getting another trip down to Manchester- in the meantime I have a TRUX Bedford QL tipper on the desk regards TED
Attached is the Bedford QL Tipper which is in progress, the lowloader is TRUX 20ton plant trailer. The Diamond T has a story behind it; my Dad was in 279 Fld Co RE 15th Scottish Div.. The picture that has always typified the pre-operation effort for crossing the RHINE was the one of the Diamond T hauling the Buffalo , Mike also sent me information on the RE tasks, so , although way out of my comfort zone I had a go. The DT is modified from the Matchbox kit as is the Rogers trailer , the Buffalo was from Milicast . The M'Cycle was from Dan Taylor. Accessories and figures mainly from Milicast plus some from Dan. I think my Dad would have liked the finished result !?? Regards TED
Dear Mike, Well down! A very comprehensive compilation on a complex subject. I have a particular interest in the serie 3 and especially in the 3A1 body as used on the LRDG F30. Unfortunately, whereas they show on all other series, serie 3 is missing the actual dimensions. On oversight may be? Is there a way to get the height and length of the 3A1 body? Anyway, this is a very useful piece of documention and I am very grateful that you did the hard work for us. With my best regards, Chris
Chris, I think the dimensions are given on the original document. I will have a look as time allows. They will be in an old fashioned box file in the attic. Mike
Chris, There are several series of sheets for the CMP, dated from 1942 to 1945. While later sheets have a considerable amount of information on dimensions the early ones do not. All the sheets say about body 3A1 is: A. Length 120". B. Height 35". Mike
