The truck in the picture below looks like a WC56 Dodge 3/4 ton to me but the bumper is differerent from the other examples I have. Can anyone confirm what this truck is? TIA! Regards, Marco
hello Marco, this truck is a Dodge 3/4 ton WC51. it is the weapons carrier version without winch. the bumper is the standart one for this truck without winch. hope this helps, All the best Leon
Hello Leon, Wow, that was pleasantly quick! Thank you. Are the two below more of a challenge? I'm updating my catalog and want to do something to specify the many generic 'trucks' I have in there. Regards, Marco
Marco, My pleasure, I love these kind of "puzzels". the first is a Dodge T215 1/2 ton weapons carrier/ pickup WC40 the secont a Chevrolet CMP (Canadian-Military-Pattern) 15-cwt GS truck have any more? all the best Leon
have any more? Yes Sir, a truckload Attached two more. The others I will need to have a look at to see if there are any of the same type just identified. Thanks again. Regards, Marco
Excellent, and glad to be of service . Below the last 4 for now. I hope I'm picking something up from this, so let's test it out: is No. 4 a Ford CMP 15 cwt? Regards, Marco
grappig ik zie net dat je ook uit nederland komt. I will keep it in English so others can read this to. First is a Diamont T 968 4 ton cargo truck. second a Mack NR 10 ton truck thirth a FWD SU-COE (cab-over-engine) this ia a coversion from after the war I believe from the denish army. Fourth you are almost right. it is a Ford CMP but a 3 ton version. also this one is not original i believe. it has a American style cargo body, and i am not shure they where built this way. this is what the last two should look like. Groeten Leon
Marco In amplification of Leons IDs of several of the above trucks, may I add a little. The Ford CMP 4x2 8 cwt GS is a late version. Earlier ones (bodies 1A1 and 1A2) had a much shorter load bed similar if not identical to the British 8cwt trucks. This one, has the later, longer body either 1B1 (personnel 3 seat) or 1B2 (wireless). The Ford CMP 3 tonner is a bit of a mystery. It looks fine, but like Leon I have not been able to confirm that that particular body was fitted to new CMPs. Lots of different GS bodies were; Leon's last pic is the 5F1 body often seen. Leon's last FWD pic appears to have a GS body; in British service they mostly had MAT bodies similar to the Matador. Chris
Hello Leon and Chris, many thanks for your contributions. May I ask Leon if you have a special interest in trucks? Yep, I'm from Holland. The pictures are from Mons (Belgium), Grave, Ginkelse hei and Rotterdam. Regards, Marco
Marco, my interest in trucks is from a modeling point of view. I am mostly interested in comonwealth softskin vehicles. all the best Leon
