At least once a day. I solve this by looking for a old thread under browsing history and getting in that way. Strange, but true.

I have this problem every few days. I just keep trying and get there in the end. But having said that, the site is more reliable of late than it has been for some time.

I have problems connecting to both WW2Talk and WW2 Forums with messages saying the server cannot connect.
This problem does not occur with other sites so I cannot see it being a problem at my end. I have an ancient laptop and a year old desktop, both use different providers to access the internet, the problem occurs with both. Repeated key ins eventualy work ,or I get bored and come back later ( as you see I am really in touch with the cutting edge of Technologololg.....can't even spell it)

PS have you tried giving it a thump ....it often makes me feel better.

I am glad it isn't just myself, I have been having beucoup problems with ww2f the last few days. I cannot get in before noon or so. After the 12 o'clock noon hour (at least the last four days), it opens right up. But won't do so using either IE8 or Firefox. I'm trying to put something worth reading together for this forum, but not happy with my effort as of yet.

Gentleman - this is all part of the on-going server issues. I am having the same problem - wasn't able to connect for nearly 3 days.

We just ask you be patient while this is sorted.

Glad to hear it's recognised and 'in hand', Paul. I too have been feeling like Sapper. It's taken me over twenty four hours ~ of constant trying ~ to get back in and read this thread.

Worst of it is; The main page opens. Then, if I try to enter the Portal, or even open a thread ....?

On the bright side - for you; It's Really doing my head in that I can't enter my Favourite Forum!

Now to try and dash about, reading everything I can, before it blanks out on me again.

UKSubs; I'll try that, when it does ;)

I'm glad somebody else has raised this, as I thought it was just me.

As long as I get connected in the end I'm happy.

At the risk of being thought of as teacher's pet, no problems at all here in Cockfosters, England.

I wonder if it's because I never log off ?

    Cheers !

Haven't noticed any problems at all with the site. I almost always get in first attempt. You should try 'pinging' the web address and see if that works, if no reply then there is a problem with you computer accessing the internet. To ping type in the 'run' box "CMD" and the write "ping http://www.ww2talk.com" (no speech marks). If this doesn't work but all other sites work then you could try resetting your internet connection although this isn't guaranteed to work.

This issue is definately related to the web server where the site is hosted or the link is dropping at the hosting site. It's nothing to do with the home connection. When the site is inaccessible the server does not respond to a ping either by IP 207.210.111.164 or Hostname ww2talk.com. Either there is a hardware fault or the web server is exceeding connections due to bandwidth or a hosting limitation.....

Other sites to test when this site is not accessible is World War II Forums as this appears to be hosted by the same people and World War II Forums if these don't work either then it's the whole hosting center otherwise if it's only www.ww2talk.com then it's related to the server itself. The hosting comapany is Global Net Access, LLC in Atlanta.
