I am researching Trooper Albert Henry Garner Serv. No. 7958846 Reg. Royal Armoured Corps 2nd Fife & Forfar Yeomanry DOD 22/09/44 Cemetery Mierlo War Cemetery Grave Ref V. A. 8. He is commemorated on a war memorial in Hindle House, Arcola Street, Hackney, London and would have lived in that area. His father was a local shopkeeper, but I have no other information.
I would like to know more about Albert and to make contact with his relatives; any help would be appreciated.
I have just read the relevant war diary that someone has kindly posted on WW2 Talk, a very active day on his DOD, but no mention of him.

This might be your 'Albert H'

England & Wales, Birth Index, 1916-2005 about Albert H Garner
    Name: Albert H Garner
    Mother's Maiden Surname: Smith
    Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1921
    Registration district: Hackney
    Inferred County: London

There are other Garners born (that I can find at the moment) around the same time (+/- 5 years of 1920) in London (Shoreditch, Lambeth, & Holborn) but no others in Hackney.

His age was 22 (sorry I forgot to add that) so he would have been born around 1921, so this seems to be the right one.

    Hi Natalie

That's the only marriage of Garner to Smith (1916 +/- 5 years) I can find at present solely registered in Hackney. If it is correct then perhaps you can find more on his father and or his business. I will also try and trace more on his father from the 1911 census.

If you obtain a copy of the marriage cert then that may tell you his trade, and hence the type of shopkeeper he was - :)
