Hi. I came across an old postcard that my grandmother sent to my grandfather back in October 1939. My Grandfather was in the RASC. I have tried googling the details but haven’t found anything specific. If anyone can help by pointing me in the right direction I would be grateful. The postcard was addressed to T/58399 Section D No 1 (GHQ) Artilly Coy RASC

    Hi,

Here's an old thread that appears to reference the same unit

Your best starting point would be to obtain his service records - you've got his service number (T/58399) so that makes it a little easier. That should help you narrow down his locations and units. Then for more detail you may be able to view the war diaries for those units - if you can't get to Kew yourself there are some chaps on here who will photograph the diaries for you.

If you didn't already know, the T prefix to his army number stands for Transport.
