Nik, It appears to be Trooper 14208931 Taylor J (43) "C" Sqd (The 43 is the demob number) He was LULC (Local Unit Lance Corporal) when transfered and like my father would have more than likely lost his stripe on transfer. Here is the dairy page showing the transfer in November 1945. Click twice to open up the thumbnail and it is in the left hand column and second from bottom. Regards Tom
Niktoo- at the time of the break up of the 4th recce - the 17th /21st were in the 26th Armoured Bde of 6th Armoured which was on the way out and we were gongregated around the central part of Steirmark - the 16/5th were at Knittelfeld / Judenburg area with the rest to the east of that location - the Lothian and Border Horse as a territorial outfit were also disbanded at around that time and we had then 4th Hussars who were regular army who went off back down to Trieste with 56th Div and we then has 1st Gloucesters also regulars from the Uk - so it was an easy time of things until later in '46 when they all went very regimental and playing real soldiers etc....
