Guys, Have not seen this posted but it is my Birthday today, thanks to those wishing me well, but l have plenty of socks and hankies now so would anyone like to buy me a poppy? http://poppies.hrp.org.uk/ and http://www.hrp.org.uk/TowerOfLondon/VisitUs/Topthingstoseeanddo/Poppies/TowerPoppies They are looking to raise over 800,000 poppies, representing the British casualties in WW1 plus dedications for other casualties at the time and since. Looks a fantastic cause. Regards, Nick
'South' painted some back in July. http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/17909-our-poppy-pictures/?p=632591 PS Many happy returns.
Had one on order for the missus since her birthday. Really ought to check out the field before it's taken down. And Happy Burfd.

Hi Mick, Belated Happy Birthday. We always buy Poppies in our family. Even though I am the oldest surviving member of "Quite a few" we all donate and proudly wear our Poppies. Some also go to church and I make the occasional local Parade depending on how mobile I am. Regards, Mick D.
Happy Birthday! As Owen says, I planted some in July (wouldn't trust me with a paint brush!!). Definitely worth going to see if you have the opportunity. I believe the last one will be planted at 11am on 11th November.
Happy Birthday Nick. My wife planted some of the poppies a couple of weeks back, she went with some of her work colleagues.
Wow guys, Thanks for the wishes. Looked through the posts but did not find this about the Tower of London but going up next week for a looksee. Will post some pics. Looks really impressive. Any particular pics anyone wants? The dedications also look really interesting. Regards, Nick
Would definitely like to see some more photos, please. We did our shift planting them on only the second day, so it must have changed considerably since then. They were just constructing the 'wave' part on the day we were there, so I'd be keen to see what it looks like now. I am hoping to pop and have a look before the Festival of Remembrance in November, but not certain that I will have enough time.
Thanks for the photos.... When were they taken? looks like they are well on with the task..... does anyone have any idea what the currrent count is? Daughter and son in law (ex RN) took our grandson a couple of weeks ago said it was very moving Robin
I get a lump in my throat each time I look at them. Is there any significance to the shape? What a shame that it cannot be a permanent display.
