Yes, saw it on the live coverage this morning.
Protest by some farmers - policeman tried to pepper spray them to make them move out of the way, wind blew spray over the policeman and some of the riders, so the race was stopped for 11 minutes.
Tour de France halted amid farmers' protest on stage 16
Odd coverage here.
When the broadcast began it showed the riders had 130 KM to go until they finished, so it was well after the farmers. The guy on the motorcycle mentioned the incident and they showed a brief clip, but that was it.
Not a soccer player
Thats what you call being tough
Tour de France 2018: Philippe Gilbert rode 60km with broken kneecap
Have you seen pics of him after his crash today ?
Well, that's a bummer. I'll watch stage 17 tonight if I can.
Good for him. Toughing it out.
We've all our own experiences with Road Rash.
Just learned that Paul Sherwen passed away last December. Broadcasts won't be the same without him.
Always enjoyed his and Phils commentary - very knowledgeable both of the sport and of the localities the race was in at the time.
Their simultaneous translation of French to English was incredible
As the Tour de France begins, we remember the life of Paul Sherwen
Missing him already. They just rode past this magnificent thing and not a word from any of the announcers.

You obviously don't get the Aussie commentary then. They had a lot to say about it.
Tour de France 2019:
Will the Dutch win the Tour 2019? So far so good ….
1st Etappe - Mike Teunissen in yellow!
2nd Etappe - JumboVisma wins !!
2019 - The year that Holland won the Euro Song Festival … and (almost) the WC women football.
I'm hopeless at the geography of this part of France. Did they go by the Marne or Belleau Wood battlefields today?
Stage 4 - Reims > Nancy - Tour de France 2019
Official route of Tour de France 2019
They went past the Douaumont Ossuary today. Such a sobering sight.
Are you sure ?
It's nowhere near where they were today.
They showed a nice drone shot of it but I don't remember if there were any cyclists in the picture, now that you mention it.
Guess I ass-u-me-ed again.
I know post is a few days old but no. Belleau Wood was to the west of the route.
Edit. Trying to upload a screenshot but it wont.
