    -Hello Chaps.

My medical and physical condition has now reached a point where I am obliged to start disposing of my military medical and Red Cross badge collections and other material. Can anybody suggest a genuine dealer who might be interested? He would have to visit as I am housebound and physically unable to lift the cases they are housed in. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Sorry to hear that, Tony and I'm sure many others here will join me in wishing you the very best outcome.
I admire your sterling efforts for all those until now, forgotten women.
You have many friends here who would do all they can to help, even if just a cyber hug and shoulder to lean on.

Sorry, but can't offer any help regarding your very worthy collection.

I do, however, send you my very best wishes with regards to your state of health and good fortune in finding a suitable person to take over the collection.

    Best regards

    Ron

You mention 'dealer', implying breakup of the collection...or would you rather the collection be kept together?

I can't make any other suggestions at the moment but answers to the above questions might help others.

    Wishing you well.

Tony, what area do you stay in? Perhaps we could help research the area for someone to help. Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. Keep yer chin up.

Hi Tony, Very sorry to hear of you deteriorating health. You have done such wonderful research on those women who would be lost in history if not for you. I am glad I was able to assist with those in Australia.

Hopefully you have some family or friends that can assist you at this time of ill health. I also hope somebody locally can assist you with a reputable dealer.

    Regards
    Geoff

Thanks all for your concern. My four year old rheumatoid condition has deteriorated to such a condition that I have to use a four-wheel trolley to shuffle around the bungalow, a snail could beat me. However, not only am I partially paralysed my concentration is also seriously affected.

Regarding the disposal of my badge collection, that was a sideline to my female war casualties, and includes a few hundred military and civilian organisations insignia that I felt justified a reasonable financial return that would obviously require an inspection. However , with no offers it will be donated to an appropriate charity.

Regarding the records of my 4,000+ unfortunate ladies, civilian and military, many of whom have personal details included that will be a problem for my two surviving daughters.

I apologise for the delay in my response but, as I said my concentration and partially paralysed fingers require me to produce my reply as a word document to correct spelling and grammar and to copy and paste it into my thread.

    My best wishes

    Tony

No apology necessary, we understand the trials you labour under.
Hopefully someone with specialist knowledge can recommend a dealer, that's a large collection and if the money can in some way help alleviate your condition, I'm sure we'd prefer that than donated.
Would your daughters be able to assist in keeping us updated from time to time, to take some of the effort off you?

I wonder if Tony is still reading these pages, and if he is (hopefully) aware that there are several people interested in his research work into the WRNS who died in service in WWII and since? I would gladly pay him (or his daughters) a visit for the chance to share information (I am currently carrying out my own research into the WRNS). I do hope that all Tony's hard work doesn't sit on shelves unread, or go to waste.......I'm sure that his daughters realise the significance of his research.
Hoping that Tony's health has improved, even in some small measure, and that we hear from Tony again soon.
    Mackan.

    Hoping Admin read this

Can we not upload the files into our resource area so at least they are there and will not become lost, perhaps someone will pick it up again later or people can add to it etc, seems a waste to lose from this site such a valuable resource.

    Just a thought
