(but not the 1940 posts counting as double :p ).

Yeah, yeah, I realise that my credibility suffered with the last comment. My tongue should have been firmly in cheek rather than sticking out.

    Guys
Is this because Drew is now top poster? .

If you're refering to my comment in post #7 , I was having a laugh.
Of course it is.....I mean isn't.
    :p

....Oh, and posts in '1940' should count double ! :p
Can't see the logic. Why would posts on pre-war subjects count double?

Lets have a vote on every single post, giving it a 'count rating factor' from 0.25 to 4 ?
Naturally we might then have to vote on each potential post discussing the vote.
    And so on.

I nominate myself for a 0.25 for this post.

Does this add to my post count? If not please delete it

I will however add that I have discovered a flaw in the voting system-I just voted for all three at the same time !

    Cheers

That's the trouble with you postaholics - you just don't read the thread before clicking submit :D.

multiple answers are allowed, so you can lean one way, but also not really care if you fancy.

I often suspected you might swing all ways...

And people who keep changing their Avatars should have 10 points deducted every time they do it.

It becomes very confusing for us oldies :(

The only time I've seen it this week end was when I snatched it from Andreas hands as she fell over a rock walking up the side of Aire Fall near Ullswater.

I think she has reached page 5 so far of a 215 page manual and doesn't have a clue what half the words mean. Anyway more importantly she is hooked on camping..... Pheeew !

Anyway and more importantly.....Back to the poll then :D

I quite like that. (Assuming it's possible - will have a shufti)
And it avoids the embarrassment associated with v high postcounts.

    Hmmm.

Why couldn't Rich's suggestion be included in the poll as it seemed to me the 'reasonable option' if the present system has to be changed.
When new members ask questions it is reassuring for them to know their answers come from members with a bit of credibility.

Seriously I don't think most members post here to build up their post figures but if that rings you bell and you make useful contributions I don't see the problem. I think the post figure is a useful indicator for new members, somewhat moreso than the 'recommendation' boxes which I feel are often not understood by new members for some while. I needed to ask what the green boxes were about when I had been a member for a month or more but perhaps thats just me not reading the instructions properly?.
I do understand the lack of post credits for the barracks since some 'chats' go on very fast and for a long time more like a chat room. That is another thought and I apologise if it has been raised before but has a realtime chat room, or perhaps the facility (no post credits) been considered? My own thoughts are that instant responses might detract from the essentially well informed sort of reply this forum usually generates. And despite one or two little run-ins with Mods/Adamin recently I still reckon they do a great job and will be perfectly happy to go along with their decisions.

And for the not so old!!!
Also agree that it gives you a guide as to how long they have been on and maybe expertice/experience so those more knowledgable can see and help out. Once the points get over 1000 (no way i will get there!) becomes a bit redundant

    regards
