Today,98 years ago 98.77% voted with yes to join the Reich.

In 1945, the debate was like, Oh no, we never wanted that. Austria wanted to become a neutral state and the old history was not welcome among some folks in Tirol and other parts of Austria.

What does the Forum members think about Austria in 1945 and today.

The only comment I can make is that based on listening to the Revolutions podcast coverage of events in 1848, that Austria was outside of united Germany in the 19th century is due to power politics rather than anything else.

Was there really anything sinister or wrong with the vote in Tirol in 1921?
