    Hello

Which time zone was kept in the Western Desert? From memory, I would have thought it was double-DST, and that therefore the British forces were 1 hour ahead of the Axis. Is this correct?

    All the best

    Andreas -
Don't think watches or clocks had much relevence in the desert - the fighting usually went on from Sunrise to Sundown- but that sneaky Rommel tended to start at 3.am just to let the lads know he was still around.....until July '42 that is ....
    Cheers

Hi Tom. Point taken. :) I am just trying to piece together something from Italian and British war diaries, so it'd be useful for me.

    Cheers!
