    A very long and expensive exercise I would imagine.

    I hope they are successful! Beautiful aircraft the Tempest. Along with the Typhoon my fav RAF aircraft.

    Cant see it myself, the sabre engine?? Id love to see it (and hear it) but wait and see eh?

    i believe there is a working sabre engine at the museum in wroughton,near swindon in north wiltshire.i cannot for the life of me remember the museums name though.yours,4th wilts.

    The Tempest Mk 2 had a Bristol Centaurus engine & so did the Hawker Sea Fury

    Kermit Weeks has had a Sabre-engined Tempest under restoration to fly for many, many years. Last I heard it was at PPS, Booker but I haven't seen any reports for a while.
