I have my copy waiting for me at my parents in Kent (My brother in Oz bought it for my birthday).

I'm in no rush though-Currently reading Battle of the Bulge and I've still got Blitz' in the West, Air war over France, BoB and three Vols. of the Blitz to read.

Cheers to James for putting a dent in my savings

Has anyone mentioned the latest edition of ATB magazine yet? They have gone over to colour 'Now' images as from this issue. Looks pretty good - or rather even better!

I can never find the damned thing as I suffer from 'magazine blindness' in the larger Smiths.

What section do they normally keep it in, as asking an assistant always just generates confusion?

It's in with the other military magazines, Adam and in my Smiths with the wargaming etc magazines.

    Hmmm.
Never found it in there, but once tracked it down in a separate family history section.
Will try harder next time I'm in town.

My local Smiths only ever has about 10 copies, and they sell out very quickly. They never seem to re-stock, which is a shame. The only place I see it in great numbers is WHS on Victoria Station in London.

I forgot to renew my subscription - will do that tomorrow.
As far as getting it here in N.I. , "West of the Bann" it can't ber got - pretty amazing when you consider that - the distributor took it on themselves just to withdraw it.

Latest issue (145) is pretty good.

THE LIBERATION OF CHARTRES . . . AND A TANK - Jean Paul Pallud tells the story of the US 7th Armored Division's objective to liberate Chartres in France . . . and an amazing discovery 64 years later. The Hérouvillette Murders - In the early hours of June 6, 1944, a German NCO executed captured British paratroopers of the 6th Airborne Division. Carl Ryman's account describes what happened and how the perpetrator was brought to justice after the war. Gate Guardian Aircraft - With a plentiful supply of surplus aircraft at the end of the war, Gate Guardians were a familiar site at service airfields around the UK and overseas. Gordon Riley explains the phenomenon and describes the erection of the latest at North Weald. Kapooka Training Incident - David Mitchelhill-Green recounts how 26 Australian sappers died in a training accident at the Royal Australian Engineer Training Centre at Camp Kapooka in New South Wales. The accident remains the largest training incident in Australian Army history. When Japan attacked California - Martin Morgan explains how on February 23, 1942 — just weeks after Pearl Harbor — the United States was jolted into a flurry of panic when a Japanese submarine shelled the country's West Coast: the first direct attack on the US mainland since the war of 1812. War Grave Mysteries in Spain - Tom Dooley and Vic Beauvois investigate the mystery behind two British graves in Huelva, Spain.

Does anyone know if Foyles on Tottenham Court Road London is still selling back issues of After The Battle?

In 2008 they had plenty, this summer there was'nt a single one.:(

Any trip to or through London has to include nipping into Foyles, more so after Sportspages closed.

Seem to remember Motorbooks (quite nearby) usually has a mound of 'em (And most book dealers at Militaria/Vehicle shows).
Theoretically every issue should stay in print from the publisher, that was the original intention anyway. But times do change, as ATB's Wheels & Tracks falling when Bart Vanderveen died proved.
