I do like this forum at times like these.
    :D

Absolutely great to see the relatives hear from Sapper on what happened so many years ago.

I could not agree more with the above comments.

This is truly a great forum to belong to.

    Regards

All that I wrote about Sapper Hepple still holds good. What I described is certainly what happened to him. Every bit of it, as is the history of Lance Corpora Kyle s death..

I have them on my list, and the date of the explosion when dealing with Mines and shell fuses. Their loss of ties in exactly with the date of their death and the date of the explosion. I heard about it through the Sapper hot line when I was in hospital.

That is all the news of the latest Sapper casualties on their return to the UK via hospital. We always sought out news of our comrades in arms where possible.
    Best wishes
    Sapper.

PS fortunately on one of the Company history documents, typed on a clapped out service typewriter, the writer added the dates when events occurred. That enables me to date exactly where and what occurred.... Even to my own first wounding that I did not know.. .It was on the 8th of August 44...It is recorded. Cheers

Thankyou for clearing that up for me i have put a proper picture of Sapper Thomas Hepple in a album but cannot work out how to attach it, but if anyone is intrested they can see it in my album. I showed my father what you wrote Brian and he knew nothing of what Thomas did in the war and could not belive it at first it has given him a insight into his brother that he nover had before . So i can only thank you again for this infomation. cheers Alison Palmer

    Owen,

I am glad that the ID is now cleared up, as I too was getting confused.

Great that Brian has the records handy and can shed light on the subject.

    Regards
    Tom
