For the last couple of weeks I have been getting the above message when posting. It happens about one post in three. The problem being that when you go back, all the text from the post has been erased, and you have to re-post the entire text. I have taken to copying the text before posting, so that if it happens, I can just paste it back again.
Has anyone else experienced this lately? Is it a known problem?

    Best wishes, David Wormell.

Have you tried using More Reply Options (or the Full Editor when editing) rather than quick Post facility?

This has helped me when submission 'hangs' or if text reveals coding br> etc.

    Hi dbf.

I only use the quick post facility, so I don't know if it happens on the full editor.

Next time why not test it, especially with longer posts - before posting select the full editor and then submit.

It has happend once to me last week and I thought that it was perhaps a falut that I had made.

I was using more reply options in order to post photographs after text.

I uploaded several photographs and when I pressed send, I lost the lot, which was frustrating and I left it to the following day when it worked perfectly.

I recently had a problem whereby this site would not allow me to paste anything I had copied - annoying. It was odd that it was only this site.

The day before it started I had a load of Microsoft updates last thing at night (working with Windows7), so eventually it dawned on me that perhaps the updates had had an effect and that I needed to reset my computer back to the time before the updates - which I did - and since then all has been fine.

    Just a thought

I can't copy and paste on the quick reply at the moment but if I go over to 'More Reply Options', the same field seems quite happy to accept the paste.

Not relevant to this site but I've been losing Google searches on the back button for the last few days. Could it be a Firefox thing ?

I have also noted a loss of the facility to copy and paste in to quick reply - used to get the warning about "giving access to" but this has disappeared. Often press to post and get a bit of activity on the "flashy thing" and then nothing - if I try again normally works.

I also freeze, loose things typed in and get page not available notice but put this down to poor internet link out here in the sticks.

    Brian,

I too at the time, put my Problem down to a poor Internet Connection.

    Perhaps it wasn't.

I think I encountered the problem by pasting a link into the message. When I used the link icon to do the same thing it was ok.

Right-click Pasting is weird in IPB. Known issue that they never seemed to satisfactorily address - seems to work on some browsers, though intermittently. Sometimes works after adding text, sometimes on more reply options or after using some function on the post bar.

Ctrl+V works, As do the copy/cut/paste icons.

Sometimes it is difficult to overcome these sort of problems and there may not be an obvious reason why. It can be very frustrating. Hope you get it resolved soon.

I have a problem with accessing the 'Back to Normandy' website whichever way I try.

I always log into the site under "New Content" however today the new content appears briefly then dissappears.
