    hi,

could any of the forum members assist me in my assignment. i need to do a case study that covers the german army, but as a sub-topic i thought i would cover the aspect of the german army that participated in the killing of jews ect.. to create a racial state. the main objective i was interested in was what was their motivation?
any help would be gratefully appreciated as i do not know where to start

    Fear and belief........

Fear that it may happen to them if they did not do it

And a big factor was that they were driven to the belief that what they were doing was right, for many who participated there was little of the "outside world" it was all propoganda driven through every medium to make them believe Hitlers dream! If you can call it that.

I think it is very unfair that when people are talking about the German Army, or in reference to German soldiers in a game or otherwise, they call them Nazis. I think that is extremely innaccurate and is tantamount to an insult to someone. Just because they were in the German Army does not make them a Nazi by default.

surely if they are fighting in the army of the third reich they must in someway or another beleive in some if not all of the nazi ideals?
