The Winter 2013 edition of Pegasus includes a list of personnel who took part in Theirs is the Glory. It's the fourth and final part of an article written by Allan E Smith who is the great nephew of producer Brian Desmond Hurst

Can you copy or scan it and post it on here?

Regarding the Recce jeep. It may have been Lt Guthrie with "Gunner" Webb driving. He used to mention his "Hollywood death" and knocking it out of gear!

    Cheers

Just taken delivery of my copy ,and will watch again tomorrow , you mention the recce jeep driver , my Arnhem medal group to the recce has paperwork detailing that the lad was used as a driver in the movie , in the battle he was holed up in the bakery and is mentioned in Fairlys book a couple of times .

Sorry Lawrence, I don't actually have a copy of the publication itself. I've just been told that the article has been published. Graham

Wiki: "Theirs is the Glory (AKA Men of Arnhem), is a 1946 British war film about the British 1st Airborne Division's involvement in the Battle of Arnhem (17 September to 25 September 1944) during Operation Market Garden in World War II. It was the first film to be made about this battle, and the biggest grossing war movie for nearly a decade."

I came across these photos of the premiere of "Theirs is the Glory" at the Gaumont Theatre, London, on Getty Images.

"The Prime Minister with members of the Cabinet and other prominent personalities, attended the London premiere of the film Theirs is the Glory, the story of the airborne landings at Arnhem, at the Gaumont Theatre, Haymarket. Simultaneous premieres took place at Arnhem and in Canada."

"A party of Dutch girls who helped to tend British wounded after the first landing at Arnhem arrived at Liverpool Street Station, London, to act as programme sellers at the premier of Theirs Is the Glory, Arnhem film, at the Gaumont, Haymarket, to-night (Tuesday). The girls belong to the Dutch equivalent of the WVS."

There must be coverage of the simultaneous premieres in Ottawa and Arnhem somewhere. An advertisement of the showing at the Centre Theatre in the Ottawa Citizen:

Just come across this thread so thought I'd add a few images. My grandad was an Arnhem veteran and was also in "Theirs is the Glory" during the battle he was in 11th Battalion parachute regiment and was mainly fighting in the Oosterbeek area. I've attached a frame from the film that he's in, which shows them being briefed before embarking. Also I have a picture of Grandad taken during filming outside a house near where he was fighting. I think the lady is called Mrs Kelderman, grandad is on the left. IMG-20220607-WA0013.jpg 20220423_114530.jpg

Johannes Kelderman was a guide on Pegasus 1 and 2 (the one on which your grandfather escaped ) but was later captured and executed. This may explain his visit to Mrs Kelderman
