The souvenir tickets were given to the 'actors' who took part in the film, all from 1st A/B Div. There were no Raff bods the film so it could be a tad dodgy!

I understand yor point mate (and I'm not bidding on it anyway as I already have one :)) but I know that there were people at the premiere's who received tickets even though they weren't in the film. Maj.Gen. Urquhart got one for instance. As I say, I know what you mean but it was a long time ago and who knows how many times these things have changed hands?
    All the best mate...........
PS Just out of interest, do you know if there's any way to check to see if a ticket is genuine or not?

Well I know mine's the real Mcoy so no need for broken teeth! It was given (they were presented in a paper envelope) to Major Munford at the film's London premier, however...

While watching "Theirs is the Glory" I noticed a number of Paras Graves with helmets on, where these original graves or just put there for the filming.
I thought that the remains of the fallen had been moved to the new CWGC cemetery in Oosterbeek by the time the filming took place in 1945.

They were working on it, a number of the guys who were doing filming, went out looking for graves, between the filming, so they could be both

    Hello Medic,
I'm not sure if all the remains in the field graves had been moved to the CWGC site at Oosterbeek by the time the filming took place. I do remember reading somewhere that filming had to be stopped a few times because the crew would find bodies as they made the picture. I wonder if anyone can verify this or is it just another of those "Arnhem Myth's"

In the movie there is a scene filmed in the Tafelberg which shows a Priest giving a service (see stills from the film below). Can anyone please tell me the name of the Priest? A friend of mine has suggested Pastoor Bruggeman and for some reason this rings a bell with me but I can't be sure.
    Many thanks :).......

    Yes.
I have checked my copy of the film and booklet that comes with it.
The comment says "Father Dijker and Doctor Van Maanen taking part in the filming in De Tafelberg Emergency Hospital"

Chaplain R. Dijker was asked by Chaplain McGowan to assist at the
Tafelberg. His story, told by himself is in the book "Zes Dorpen in Oorlog en Verzet" wich is unfortunately in Dutch only. It translates as "Six Villages in War and Resistance".
He was a Roman Catholic Chaplain from the Bernulphus Church in Oosterbeek so actually
    an assistent of Pastor Bruggeman.
In the book is also the dead announcement of Reverend Benson who died of Wounds
the 27th Sept. in St. Elisabeth Hospital. Benson has been in the Tafelberg too.

Thanks a lot fellas, I knew I could count on you all!! :D. I've got a couple of copies of the film but they are on DVD and don't have the booklet metioned.
I believe that this came with the VHS Video version of the movie when it was first released way back when!!

    Cheers............
