I know many out there have been trying to get hold of a copy of Murray Gillings Book "The Shiny 9th " which gives the history of the 9th Battalion,Royal Sussex Rgt in Burma in 1944 and 1945. I have just discovered that it was reprinted in 2001 and can be bought from the Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum in Eastbourne, Sussex. They have a website with contact details. They are planning an online shop soon so it might be easier to find in future.
Forgot to say that the book has had its Roll of Honour updated so it may be that some missing names have been added. Also if anyone out there wants to contact the Royal Sussex Regimental Association you contact them via the Eastbourne Redoubt Museum.
Shiny 9th - are you the author? If so, why not sell some via this site? you would be more than welcome.
I've had a word with the museum: the book should be £9.99 and they are double-checking the postage this lunchtime. As soon as my copy is safely out of reach of the rest of you I will let you know. They did say they have a fair stock of them, so no need to panic.
£11.99 including UK postage. That seems a fair price. I seem to remember a good few members here were after a copy not so long ago. Saves scouring Amazon etc. and then being ripped off by some dodgy bookstore for an ex-library second hand copy.

I will take the Idler route methinks
