About 15 yrs ago, my wife had a Virgin Mobile (VM) contract which she paid off early as she wanted to upgrade her phone. All sorted, no problem, direct debit cancelled. Unfortunately VM still tried to take the last payment, it was obviously rejected...many emails later it was all sorted, no monies were owed. Moving on about 3 yrs, she tried to move back to VM and failed their credit check, due to this bounced last payment, that she didn't even owe. Even today, she can't get a VM contract :banghead::banghead:.

Just go full David and Goliath Clive and use the modern day upgraded slingshot; the once ubiquitous WristRocket :)

Aaaaah....... I see they have already entered the "oh no you don't" "weaponry class through use and abuse by the malcontents of this world.

Hmmmmm. How times and mores change. Give heaven thanks for the Pharisees not interfering with the boy David's sling-shotery (though that may have influenced the odds on the book they were running in the temple, and not to their advantage :) )

Well that little diatribe likely sees my jankers in purgatory slot booked; for now.

And all down to the OSA.

    And Clive :)

Kind regards, "But officer Confiscate (note: no relation to Officer Krupke) How will I get the bait out to the middle of the carp pond now?"

"You don't need to lad. Loaves and fishes, loaves and fishes pilgrim".

It was bizarre John. I paid the last car payment about two years ago, no mortgage now, but my glasses are on the never never and a few other bits and pieces. It wasn't so much the refusal...it was the shop's attitude on refusal, with no second option or solution offered.

I see that Imgur has withdrawn access to UK users which is affecting some message boards, including the old WD Motorcycle Bravenet forum. It may be data protection rather than OSA though. Whatever, the UK may be heading for a time when all you can view are Government websites.

The daft thing is that if you're a UK-based moderator, unless you're using a VPN, you won't be able to see what's posted on your own forum via Imgur...and presumably most other image hosting services shortly.

Is it going to end up with the UK and Europe blocking U.S. servers ? That will be the end of the internet, won't it ?

I have to say though that his writing style makes him seem like a complete arsehole. Agreeing with him on anything would feel rather Faustian.

From all that I read here this law sounds like what you over there call absolute bollocks. Is there any hope of the thing dying of ridicule or being repealed because it is inconvenient, costly, and plain unworkable?

Ah, slingshots. I was picturing a kid trying to board a flight at Heathrow and having to explain why he didn't want to check his trebuchet. ("Left luggage" is it?)

Again, "English and Americans are two peoples separated by a common language." I do like the way English sounds when a born Englishman is using it. Winston, you win.
