The Next of Kin was shot in several locations on the south Cornish coast in 1941. Intended as a military training film, it gained cinema release in 1942, but Churchill had it pulled from the screens in the run up to the St Nazaire Raid. The plot tells of a Commando raid on a harbour on the French coast to destroy submarine pens and lock gates which although successful suffered heavy casualties to men & craft due to the enemy being informed after their agents & sympathisers picked up on careless talk from the soldiers during their preparations in the UK. This video looks at the locations used in the film.
