Good choice Dave, I always wondered whether Bill Bartlett & Co took their band name from that one time coaching inn, the Ram Jam: that stood beside the Great North Road in Rutland; alas no more - recently demolished. The hostelry had possible association with Dick Turpin and was close to what was RAF Cottesmore, otherwise known in 1943 as USAAF Station 489, a base for troop transport aircraft, including gliders, in anticipation of the station's future use by airborne forces: I expect it would have been popular with those guys.
