Here one for you Ex Squaddies and sportsmen! My kids grew up listening to "Apostrophe" on our overnight trips to Cornwall. Never forgot the whole thing. Another favourite was War of the Worlds (Maybe next time)

Nigel played at Birmingham Town Hall thirty years ago. My eldest son was aged about ten and was making great progress with the violin. Nigel spent the entire interlude talking with him, someone had told Nigel that he played the violin. A lady from St John Ambulance came to ask if he would like to speak to him. A magical moment. I thought this a bit seasonal. Without too much commercialism.
Two different versions of one of my favourite songs. One with Youssou N'Dour. The other with Paula Cole. Both bring back some powerful memories.
Ha. been listening to the Eurythmics last 3 days while knocking garage into shape.. Think it stands the test of time beyond a lot of its contemporaries. Maybe the care put into production.
This song reminds me of a hilarious incident at a disco back in 1980. It was held in a church hall in Harrow Weald and as the DJ played this song, everyone (it seemed) began to pogo in unison. The result being that the DJ's sound system vibrated off the stage and onto the floor below. Hope it didn't cost him Too Much!!
