Each evening at the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium the Last Post is sounded in an act of remembrance for the soldiers who died in World War One. This has happened almost continuously since 1928. The buglers who play it are local firefighters, mostly volunteers. On 9 July the Last Post will be played there for 30,000th time. BBC News met Rik Vandekerckhove, the Chief Officer at the fire brigade, who has been playing the bugle in the ceremony since 1980. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-33440968 30,000th Last Post - A tribute to the tribute On 09/07/2015 the Last Post will be blown for the 30,000th time under the Menin Gate in Ieper.
