Hi Ron, As promised here's what I have accumulated. Incidentally. although the Brigade's war diary for April does not mention it, Churchills of 'C' Squadron North Irish Horse supported one of Palestine Regiments during the final days, Cheers, Gerry View attachment WD-Jewish-Brigade.doc
Gerry Many thanks for adding this, as promised, to the general store of reliable WW2 data available on this site. Just off for a week's break, but when I return I will gather together all the info that I already have on the Jewish Brigade and add the links to the articles on this thread. This forum is indeed fortunate to have resarchers of your calibre as part of their team of experts and I, for one, am indebted to you for your contributions over the years. Keep well! Best regards Ron ps Some links, so far: http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/13632-jewish-brigade/ Mick's Diary added to the Photo Galleries http://ww2talk.com/forums/gallery/album/491-sgtmajor-mick-goldstein-jewish-brigade/
Gerry, that's a great document you have put together. Thank you for posting it. Though not related to your research, I remembered there were some new Jewish records at Ancestry. I've taken some screen shots so others can see what's been added recently. Ron, hope you and your good lady have a fantastic holiday.
You have given me an idea Ron. Postings, such as this one and certain Churchill Tank Units could be much improved with the addition of material such as yours. For example, I am now working on KingForce without very much of accumulated info available. Any help from our members will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Gerry
Thanks to lee@arcre I have received the War Dairies from leaving Italy to their final disbandment, very clear and concise the best brigade dairies since starting the project, details from HQ Line of Communication were very shaky and the internet for post VE Day incorrect, they were never under command 8 Corps District in Schleswig-Holstein or in any part of Germany, unlike other brigades did not have responsibility for a certain area but used throughout the Line of Communication area from Calais-F to Venlo-NL, have posted an original page for anybody seeking information RIP.
