I'm seeing a great many very tidy gardens on soshul meeja.
Gonna be a good year for horticulture.

Living right opposite a Boots, I can watch the queue stretch strangely down the street.
Long-suspected Wednesday was methadone day. Suspicions largely confirmed...

One section I cannot stand anymore `TV Media` talk absolute `bollocks`! Never let the truth get in the way of a good story do they . News can be done with video links no need to send teams into the deserted streets ,no way are these essential workers.
Two minute `outside broadcast reporter and I lost count of how many times she mentioned `The Frontline` . Undermining every thing the authorities are trying to do then they bring on a Doctor (recoving from the virus) who then takes them to task by saying she didnt think any more could physically be done considering how fast the situation developed. Did this stop them ? Nah not a chance back to an outside unit travelling through York remarking on how deserted the streets were!

    Rant over :)

Won't the alcoholics going cold turkey stress the medical system even more than it already is? Why would they ban alcohol?

Another Prohibition ... is history repeating itself after one hundred years?
The last one in the USA lasted 13 years.

10% of the population are out and out alcoholics, consuming an average of 78 drinks per week. By Saturday they'll be driving cars through the front window of the closest liquor store.

    One thought about Covid-19.
Army Training Memorandum No44 sent under Alanbrooke's signature on 22 Oct 1942 Item No6 points out that in five months in 1942 there were 4,330 motorcyle accidents that killed or injured 2,786 military personnel. Not sure how many of those died.

Note the new avatar for panic buying while social isolating...

I would donate the perspirator to the NHS except its 30 years old and the cannister is slightly out of date.

I'd be more worried about people with DTs taking up emergency room beds and ambulances.

Relax Dave, they'll be breaking into your home liquor cabinet before they'd let the DT's set in.

Which makes me think, the number of home break-ins must be way down!

I heard on the news this morning that Dyson have been given a contract to produce respirators for the N.H.S. This may sound like good news, but if they are built to the same standards as their vacuum cleaners, they will be available at car boot sales up and down the country by Christmas.

I went to Tesco for our weekly shop this morning and was pleasantly surprised.

They now have an entry system where you queue 2m apart with lines on the ground and marshals to guide people. The only reason for the queue is that they wipe each trolley rail and dispense hand sanitiser as you go in. Once inside, there were not that many people.

The tills were also spaced out with 2m marks on the floor to keep the punters apart. They tried to limit me to 3 bottles of beer, but I showed them a letter from my doctor and they let me through.

I arrived wearing a pair of diesel gloves, whereas everyone else seemed to have posh surgical embarrassing!
