Some wag in the CQB facility will no doubt break from protocol and stand firm outside the door. On being questioned as to why he has not stepped up he will reply "we've already got two in the room so I'm following Boris's instructions".
Laughter will be followed by serious rifting, a beasting, and more laughter.

Normal (Special) service will be resumed as soon as possible.

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.

I noticed Rebecca Long-Bailey asking the small crowd at her latest hustings to spread out a bit. Is this the first case of Socialist Distancing?

    The Coronapocalyps in Holland:

In late afternoon of Sunday 15 March public live in Holland was partly locked down for the next three weeks. At the time we had 1413 registered patients (the actual number was higher, probably as many as 6000 people were infected) and 24 deaths (numbers as of 16 March).

Since then I've been editing on a daily basis how the situation in Holland rapidly changes:

17 March - 19 new death cases, that makes 43; total confirmed patients 1705 (an increase of 292)
18 March - 15 new deaths, total now risen to 58; total confirmed patients 2051 (an increase of 346)
19 March - 18 new deaths, total now 76; total confirmed patients 2465 (an increase of 414)
20 March - 30 people died over the last 24 hours; total now 106; total confirmed patients 2994 (an increase of 529)
21 March - 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, death toll now 136; total confirmed patients 3631 (an increase of 637)
22 March - 43 deaths, death toll now 179; total confirmed patients 4216 (an increase of 585)
23 March - 34 people died over the last 24 hours; total number 213; total confirmed patients 4.749 (an increase of 533)
Today further restrictions became effective - semi-lock down
24 March - 63 deaths; total number now 276; total confirmed patients 5560 (increase of 811)
25 March - 80 new deaths, total now 356; total confirmed patients 6412 (an increase of 852)
26 March - 78 deaths, total now 434; total confirmed patients 7431 (an increase of 1019)
27 March - 112 deaths, total now 546; total confirmed patients 8603 (an increase of 1172)

Am I the only one who´s far more concerned about the economically aftermath we´ll face in the near future?
The entire "body-count" seems laughable compared to the inevitable economically devastation caused by the worldwide shutdowns
In less than a month the globalized production chains will finally come to a grinding halt - and the US of A just face a first, slight glance of disaster. Hopefully the Americans remember their unique abilities despite the actual head of state!
A wise man said we´ll experience how far modern civilization reaches when supermarkets remain empty longer than a week. Easy talk to me as living in Germany and also on a farm. But IMHO here in good old Europe we all (forget Brexit) should think about far more cooperation than until now already managed.
    Just my opinion.....

Itdan - We probably all are aware of the economic impact ... but economies will recover in time, as they always do.

People's lives and getting the virus under control matter more at the moment.

They got me too, but the dentist rang up to say I can't see the hygienist. Can't read the internet on a Nokia 3310 but I'm not going anywhere but the back garden for a while anyway. What gets me is that this will be an excuse for the government to insist that I get a smartphone. In France they have to print leave passes or show a smartphone. Well, I think that is true, but I've given up watching the news.

My view probably lands squarely between yours and Itdan. I think it comes down to a question of timing. If the time required to wrestle the virus to the ground is extended then the economies will suffer irreversible damage. It will recover in time as you noted but this is uncharted territory. I'm not sure we can accurately predict the damage to the economy or government finances. The degree of pain to the population will depend on how deep the hole is that we need to climb out of. There are many unforeseen circumstances in front of us and unintended consequences, no matter how we approach it.
For starters, if Mexico implodes in the next few weeks, as is predicted,Trump will face enormous pressure to lock-down the U.S. as well.

    Of course you´re right...
But also have a glance towards the near future couldn´t be wrong:
Economical devastation was one of the main causes for the raise of a certain bunch of rabid troglodytes here...
I don´t want to count on Russian, British and American assistance to root it out finally once more - Karthago waged three wars, we know the outcome
"Denk ich an Deutschland in der Nacht, bin ich um den Schlaf gebracht"
    Heinrich Heine, Nachtgedanken, 1844"
And to give the truth the honour - I´m at least a bit concerned....

Johnson TP appears to be unavailable here in the US. Trump TP available in Europe. Amazon is suspending delivery of what it deems to be non essential products to husband warehouse capacity. We're starting a 2 week "Stay at Home" directive tomorrow. My wife ordered some wine, hair die and adult toys. Tracking info says that the order has been shipped. Amazon And I agree on what's essential.

Got me too on my 2G Nokia 3310. Maybe we should form a pressure group.

    Nice screen by the way!

This photo was widely used by the Murdoch Press to illustrate the 'panic buying' craze. It is credited to The Bournemouth News and Picture Service.

As is the norm with these things in the UK the internet fixated on the dog and much debate ensued as to the general appearance of the dog and that it looked 'neglected'. The formerly anonymous owner was unable to contain herself and took to Twitter to defend the dog and say it was well looked after. Other curious people did a bit of research on the woman and it turns out she works for................The Bournemouth News and Picture Service.

Sometimes 'Fake Noos' really is fake news!
