I have been researching the bombing of 24 General Hospital at Campbell College in Belfast during May 1941.

The College had been used as a Billet by 88 Sqn RAF from June 1940 with 24 General Hospital arriving on 27th July 1940.

The Hospital looked after approx. 34,000 patients until it left for Waringfield in 1945.

I believe that the raid resulted in the deaths of 8 patients.

Of the Medical Staff 2 RAMC Officers were killed along with a Staff Sergeant and 2 Privates.

On checking through the CWGC details there are a Major, Staff Sergeant and Sergeant all who were killed on this night and buried in Belfast City Cemetery along with 1 RAMC private in the same Cemetery and another RAMC Private in Rutherglen Cemetery.

16 other Military Personnel were killed the same night and buried in Belfast City and Milltown Cemeteries. - I expect a number of these would have been killed in this particular bombing.

I have contacted the RAMC Association but am still awaiting a reply.

Does anyone know anything about this?

ANY assistance would be very much appreciated.
