Thanks Gerry, am i right in thinking djemel rmel is marked on the map as djebel boulahoudjeb , 6th Black Watch were in this area around 10th April 1943. Regards Terry

No it is the hill slightly to the north - the source of the river Melah. It was held by the Germans as it had a more commanding view. Most of the fighting took place on the col between it and Djebel Boulahoudjeb. Of interest. The NIH had 17 Churchills put out of action in Tunisia, of which 10 were repaired. The only recorded loss by fire from Panzers occured when a PzKFw !V got ours as she entered the col. Cheers, Gerry
