The assault crossing at Leer, Germany on 28th April 1945 by the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division was the last major action by the division in the war and it was one of its most costly operations. Crossing in open topped Storm boats, the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry's assault went terribly wrong and it was only due to their courage and strong leadership that they weren't wiped out. This book coversthe division's first steps into hostile Germany and continues their progress right up until the end of the war. It contains 8 original maps and dozens of never seen before photographs.
