Here we go, a general thread to diss the Aussies, laugh at the Brits, or like me find it absolutely hilarious just how bad we are. Go forth and bicker.
No need to bicker, your getting humped as we say in Scotland. I was in Manchester last night, some of the guys stayed in walkabout from midnight to watch it live until 3am, what a waste! It was so bad I went with a couple of the guys down canal Street. And before anyone asks, no I am not!
Alcoholic.... Well we got humped in the first test last time so there is still a resemblance of some hope, would nice to at least retain the Ashes though....
I beg your pardon Peter? :? Lee, you know you ar really and that comment went right over Gnomey's head, didn't it?
Been up at 6 fpr the last two days to watch the Ashes - I've already complained to Sky for putting it on so late! Will be up till at least 2 tonight. Got beer by my side and the laptop for when I get bored (expect loads of posts)! Barmy army, barmy army, barmy army etc etc etc
Cricket? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I beg your pardon Peter? :? Lee, you know you ar really and that comment went right over Gnomey's head, didn't it? I'm sure it did but there is a fine line that students run between alcoholism and non-alcoholism. Take it whatever way you wish but I am no alcoholic (yet )... Cricket isn't just a stick and ball game it is about beating the colonials (which we are never any good at). Just watch and become addicted (those that have sky of course - although the channel 4 coverage was better...)..........
Gnomey, let us say that down Canal Street in Manchester they like soldier boys. Alcohol doesn't come into it. As to cricket: Most mind numbingly boring game I've ever watched. love to play it, can't abide watching it.
Try watching Baseball, Darts, Snooker or Chess --> they are the most boring games to watch... Hey, I love watching darts on TV!!! However, have problems watching snooker - I'm colour blind! p.s. the only "interesting" article that I've ever read about cricket: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6132706.stm
Try watching Baseball, Darts, Snooker or Chess --> they are the most boring games to watch... DARTS!!! That's an excellent game! Bowls!! Now that's boring!!!
Bowls = Old Men's Marbles. Darts, snooker, chess and bowls should all be outlawed. Along with athletics. I'd much rather see 3 day eventing. Always an excellent chance of someone coming a cropper in that.

Few realize that cricket was the national sport in the U.S. prior to baseball. http://smithsonianmag.com/issues/2006/october/cricket.php JT
Here we go, a general thread to diss the Aussies, laugh at the Brits, or like me find it absolutely hilarious just how bad we are. Go forth and bicker. How bad we are?! Thought it was the England team?! Hate sport of any description, incidentally.......
Bowls = Old Men's Marbles. Darts, snooker, chess and bowls should all be outlawed. Along with athletics. I'd much rather see 3 day eventing. Always an excellent chance of someone coming a cropper in that. Chess? CHESS?? What on earth's wrong with chess??. ah yes, too difficult for you....? I was thinking the same as Gordon, why on earth would any Scot embroil himself in England's potential cricket misery? I'd have thought it would cause little more than satisfaction. Owen 'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz' D, I'm glad you find the nil/nil score of the average footie match so enthralling :p So, is Lee a lesbian then??
I have just come into possession of a photo of Lee in Manchester t'other night. Those of a sensitive disposition, look away now. Von T and Historian, join me in laughing at the England cricket team then.
Von T and Historian, join me in laughing at the England cricket team then. No. We're too keen on moaning (Aust:-'whinging poms'. I'm sure the Scottish have their own terminology.) in England as it is, even during the recent huge successes of the cricket team the country slagged 'em off and expected defeat every time, in many ways it's admirable to be so suspicious of success but this time I'll stick with; [begin_unfamiliar_nationalistic 'sport' mode-] "Come on England, lets beat those cocky bastards... just like 'we' did last time, God save our Queen, & yours too." [/End_unfamiliar_nationalistic 'sport' mode/] :ukflag[1]: :m4: :m3: :ausflag[1]: Cheers, Adam.
Stuff the cricket. Here is Britain's next sporting star. http://www.lewishamilton.com/ or even a Champion in DTM http://www.garypaffett.com/
