While looking through my grandfather's regimental war diary (LAA), it has a classification system for hits on planes. I have seen the definitions for the classifications somewhere but for the life of me can't find it now....Can someone explain what the difference is between a category I and category II hit are? For context - A/357 awarded Cat II ME109 Many thanks, Ian
Category one is a confirmed kill. Cat II is a claim for a plane shot down, but not seen to crash. Interesting comment about enemy Jet aircraft. Example attached:- Cat II
