I did not realize that since the 15th September 1916 Tanks were used.
An eager politician named Winston B. Churchill pushed the development of Mark I, the first of its kind used in Flanders to stop German troops.

Eh, they had been used for a long time. There were even a couple of tank battles in World War I.

Quibbling: I'd say that tanks were more of a supporting arm in WW1 due to their lack of speed and durability.

    For what it's worth -

The most recent issue of the Tank Museum Magazine has information about a second edition of The Tanks at Flers. The author's widow donated the copyright to the museum.

She gave his archive to Stephen Pope (The First Tank Crews) and when he heard about a plan to reprint the book he "pestered" David Willey into agreeing on a second edition. Stephen writes in the article of unpublished documents which add to Trevor's original research and answer some questions identified by his book.
