Military Technical Museum in Lešany is the biggest military related museum in our country and every year at the end of the season it helds so called "Tank Day" at it's display arena. The event has become a very popular among the people (there are literally ten thousands of visitors every year) and the museum shows practically every year some new stuff. These following pics are just a small part of what you can see at the event or at the museum exhibitions. And I know this forum is related to WWII stuff so I'll keep it just to this period. LT-38 (PzKpfw 38(t) ausf.A) ST-1 (Hetzer manufactured right after the war in Czechoslovakia with some minor modifications, although its not the same as G13's) T-34/85 IS-3 M36B2 Jackson (Ex-Slovenian) Strv m/37 (Praga AH-IV-Sv) As I said there's much more to see in the museum. PzKpfw 35(t), PzKpfw IV ausf.J, T-34/76, IS-2, Cromwell, Comet, Sherman, not to mention Cold War stuff (Centurion, Chieftain, Patton tanks family, T-55, Merkava and so). Really highly recommended place to see
Splendid stuff Adamicz, nice to hear from someone who's actually visited. Their 38 is well known, but that JS3 is a beauty. Cheers, Adam (And we don't mind a bit of postwar stuff Feel free to show us that too.)
(And we don't mind a bit of postwar stuff Feel free to show us that too.) Thx for the replies guys and If you don't mind, here's more Centurion Mk.IX M48A5 Patton M60A1 Patton T-55 Chieftain T-54 Leopard 1V T-72M4CZ (this is MBT of the Czech Army, so it doesn't belong to the museum). Merkava Mk.IB (It should be still the only Merkava in running order out of Israel btw)
More 'width' to the collection than I'd imagined, and really nice shots. You can't beat a bit of dust can you, as that T54 demonstrates. That Merkava's an eye-opener. Didn't know one of those had escaped.
Hi all, a little update, one of the museum's M36 Jackson's has got it's 'WWII look' again and has been presented on the opening event in May. Also the LT vz. 35 / PzKpfw 35(t) has completed it's first phase of reconstruction, in the next phase an engine is gonna be restored and in year or two we'll finally see the only running tank of this type in the world.
Super photos , still can't get used to seeing Western tanks with crews wearing Soviet style headgear, oh how the world has moved on .
Great pictures and you did a really good job at taking them too. It's not easy to get good shots like those even if you are there and have a good camera. Nice work!
