Suzanne is a village in the Department of the Somme on the right bank of the Somme River, about 13 kilometres south-east of Albert. Suzanne Military Cemetery No. 3 is north of the village near the east of the road to Maricourt. The village of Suzanne was taken over by British troops in the summer of 1915, lost in March, 1918, and recaptured by the 3rd Australian Division on the following 26th August. Suzanne Military Cemetery No. 3 was originally a French Cemetery (Cimetiere Mixte No. 3 de Suzanne); but after the Armistice the British graves were concentrated into it from the battlefields North of the Somme, and the French graves were removed. Hi all, I am creating a new request for a photo of this headstone so I can finish this story on these two brothers - Frank Henry Dealy AIF and his younger brother Thomas Sydney Ough Dealy (AFC) both killed in WW1. Thomas in an aircraft accident in Scotland on the 7/3/1918 and Frank in France during the battle for Suzanne 26/8/1918. In Memory of Lance Corporal F H DEALY 2802, 43rd Bn., Australian Infantry, A.I.F. who died age 23 on 26 August 1918 Was the only surviving son of Thomas K. Dealy (late Headmaster, Queen's College, Hong Kong) and A. M. Dealy, of 19, Rue Voltaire, Grenoble, Isere, France. B.Sc. Remembered with honour SUZANNE MILITARY CEMETERY No.3 If anyone could secure a photo of Franks grave I would be most appreciative. Cheers Spidge

Hi Tony, Thank you for thinking of me with this request however I now have the photo which was sent by a friend. I have quite a lot of threads and sometimes just run out of time to keep them up to date however thanks to you it is now done. I do need to get back to this story and complete it after having received some more details. Cheers Geoff
Have you seen this link its about Frank Dealy? A Melancholy Time regards Keith Hi Keith, Thanks for posting. Yes I had seen it halfway through doing the initial research. What a wonderful website portraying the history of the matriarch and the sadness (like many others) of losing sons with so much potential in the great war. I have seen a movie of this family "in my mind" told through a mothers memories. Hopefully, I will get back to this and complete it in the near future as I have put most of my available time into my RAAF project. Cheers Geoff
