Came across this while looking for info on the Churchill at Le Havre. The Churchill Register Didn't know about this Croc at Brest, for example:
This is what I was looking for, which is at Le Havre. Found it here: Le Havre 1940 - 1944. La Forteresse de l'origine à 1944
Chris Shillito's main websites are always worth a shufti too: Armour in Focus Churchill Articles And his excellent Churchill spotters guide: The Churchill Register - Spotters Guide I'm not entirely sure how up to date the register is - I have a feeling it may not have been updated for a while? (There may even be differences between the one on the Freespace site and the one residing at the main 'Armour in focus' site.)
The Churchill Register Didn't know about this Croc at Brest, for example: you did know about it, you just forgot. I posted pic of it on first post of this thread, you were next to answer. :p http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/battle-specifics/10958-crocodiles-brest.html
The North Irish Horse has Churchill gatekeepers in Northern Ireland. Here's a Mark IV at the Dunmore Park Barracks http://www.northirishhorse.net/galleries/photos/Gatekeeper-1.jpg She has an interesting history. and a Mark VII at Limavady Barracks http://northirishhorse.net/N-Ireland/Limavady-2009.html Cheers, Gerry
I changed the title slightly rather than pop this into a new thread. The AFV register appears to be getting more and more useful/comprehensive: The Afv Register: Home It also links to the site's mentioned above, and a few other good national/type lists.
If Tom Canning was still around, he would be most interested in this particular thread regarding the Churchill Tank. Regards Tom
