I have just been reliably informed that there have been another 32 deaths up to when the new list was done.

We would probably be down to low 130's by the end of 2007.

 

Yea, that is definately him - Spidge. I pretty much found out most I know about him from No. 610 (County of Chester) Squadron - his is an interesting article.
I'd love to speak to either my Physics teacher about him, or to him personally, as I am intrigued by the Battle, and would love to listen to a first hand account of a veteran. However, I doubt that happening.

I did a google and there is quite a lot on him.

How could they have missed this guy twice?

 

I'm actually working on a profile view of what is hopefully eventually going to be Denchfield's Spitfire that he flew in October 1940 - If I can get the relevant information.

Its still a heavy WIP, but thought I'd show you guys.

In case it's of interest to anyone, I have 3 photos of a George William Swanwick, whom my late mother knew on Gib in 1942 (she wrote Flight Lt on the back of one of the photos, but that may or may not have been correct). He travelled there on the same ship as she did, from Greenock I think, but left Gib in July 1942. They corresponded for a few months, according to her diary. (I am totally new to this website and how it works. My only wish is to share the old photos if they are of interest.)
